The Nest
“The Nest” was a collaborative animated short acting as a parody of Romeo and Juliet, it was completed over the Spring 2024 semester. The short follows Darla, an elderly woman who has called an exterminator to rid her of the pests, that are constantly stealing her garden decorations. The pests consist of many critters that live in the sewers. Most notably the main characters, Racoonero and Posoumette. The project’s purpose was to expose us to a typical studio pipeline and gain experience working in teams. My team consisted of four people: Cat Lynn, Rayvin Beachboard, Angel Evans, and myself. I was responsible for coming up with environment concept art and various props that could be used throughout the short. This short utilized 3D scenes created by Cat in combination with 2D animation and props.
